Vann and Associates is excited to add Trauma-Informed Yoga to its office in Lewisville. The 1-hour class is offered for women (16 and older), Veterans, and 1st Responders. Each group is limited at 5 participants and they are not co-ed. The cost for each group, which includes mats, blankets, and various yoga-type tools is $25.
Lisa Orozco, E-RYT, YACEP is a certified yoga instructor who has practiced in Napal with survivors of the sex-trafficking trade. She describes herself as an inspired artist and trauma-informed yoga practitioner. As a proponent of transformational self-healing, her deep desire is to pass n her knowledge of yoga and meditation as a tool for trauma recovery and self-acceptance.
Lisa’s methodology is one of inspiration, support of truth, and empowerment of others in an effort to help people embrace their own unique expression in this world. Art making, an embodied practice of yoga and somatic experiencing are the foundations of her commitment to share more happiness, joy, and peace. She has utilized these tools to empower girls removed from human trafficking as well as military veterans and women healing from sexual trauma. Lisa has worked in partnership with multiple counselors in the DFW area and is passionate about bringing awareness of the need for body-based therapies in the healing process of trauma recovery.
